How PMD Beauty Boosted Star Ratings And Conversions With TraceFuse
Sam Alexander, CEO of PMD Beauty, wasn’t dealing with a listing in crisis. He was dealing with something quieter: products stuck at 3.8 and 3.9 stars, held there by reviews that shouldn’t have been on the page. Any Amazon seller knows that band — the product is fine, but the rating says “maybe.”
PMD Beauty had already tried to fix it. A previous provider delivered nothing, a familiar outcome in a space where plenty of companies promise review removal and few can explain how they work within Amazon’s rules to get there.
TraceFuse identifies reviews that violate Amazon’s policies and files cases through the proper channels, with Amazon deciding each outcome. Six months in, PMD Beauty’s products had moved from the high 3s into the 4.0-4.2 range — and Sam saw it in both sales and conversion rate.
“We’ve really seen a difference when you get a product that, say, has like a 3.8 or a 3.9 star and you get that into like the 4, 4.1, 4.2. We’ve seen a difference in our sales and in our conversion rate.”
The benefit Sam didn’t anticipate came from outside the listing. Influencers and content creators were noticeably keener to work with products that already looked well-reviewed, meaning a suppressed rating had been quietly costing PMD Beauty marketing reach on top of sales.
